Investors ask: Tenant demand in Brisbane

Q: I’m looking to buy in Brisbane and I want to know what’s in demand among tenants there, so
I can get the best return. Which suburbs attract renters and what kinds of property should I look for?

A: Suburbs that are well-serviced by transport, lifestyle precincts with cafes and boutiques, and ease of access to the city are in highest demand.

In Brisbane, that’s places in the inner north and inner north west such as Wilston, Grange, Newmarket, Kedron, Ashgrove, Bardon, Paddington, and surrounding suburbs.

These suburbs are in highest demand because they offer access to desirable facilities, ease of transport, and nice neighbourhoods.

Tenants look for houses that are well laid-out, neatly presented, and have covered entertaining areas. Fenced yards are also in demand, particularly in they allow pets.

Keep in mind that tenant demand at present is strongest from interstate relocations.
