Phillip Tarrant, managing editor
Phillip is a media professional as well as an active property investor. He has over 10 years’ experience reporting on the mortgage and property markets and has worked extensively with Australia’s leading mortgage lenders and brokers as a corporate communications and public relations consultant. As well as being editor of Smart Property Investment, Phillip sits on the Board of the Property Investment Professionals of Australia (PIPA), the peak industry body for the property investment industry. He also sits on the Board of Publishers Australia, which represents best practice, innovation and professionalism in publishing.

Vivienne Small Vivienne Kelly, editor
Vivienne is no stranger to the Australian real estate and financial markets. She began her career specialising in financial public relations before making the switch to journalism in 2011. Backed with a Bachelor of International Communication and Honours in Writing for Media at Macquarie University, Vivienne has previously worked on sister publication, The Adviser writing across all print and digital products.

Andy has over 10 years publishing experience in the Australian mortgage, real estate and property investment industries. During that time he has managed many of the leading magazines, websites and events servicing those industries and its customers. He currently heads up Australia’s fastest growing property investment title, Smart Property Investment.

Alex Whitlock, group publisher
Alex is a veteran in mortgage and finance publishing. He launched Australia’s first independent mortgage industry magazine in 2001 and has since successfully published a number of other titles for mortgage and real estate professionals. Alex is also an Australian property fanatic. His first property was an off-the-plan Melbourne unit, which he still owns today. He has bought and sold numerous properties over the years and is a leading writer and commentator on all aspects of buying, financing, selling and managing residential property.

Francis has 16 years’ experience as a journalist, in Australia and the United States, and prior to covering the mortgage and real estate markets he specialised in environmental affairs, public infrastructure and the legal profession.
Lucy Lucy Allman, sub editor
Lucy joined the Sterling team from the UK having completed a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish at the University of Exeter. In 2007, she spent a year living in Spain launching a bilingual project at a secondary school whilst teaching English. Prior to joining Sterling in 2012, Lucy was employed by one of the biggest consumer media businesses in the UK, working across a range of consumer magazine titles, both national and international.
Adam Adam Arnou, AV producer
With seven years experience producing and directing video and digital media across multiple channels, Adam drives the development of Smart Property Investment's multimedia platforms. Since graduating from Macquarie University with a BA in Multimedia, his passion for digital media have evolved; he's also an avid property investor. A media savvy and creative producer, his video, audio and photography material are used across Smart Property Investment as well as Sterling Publishing's other products.
Nathan Tom Hales – account manager
With a degree in business studies Tom's previous role was in Business Development. Hailing from England he’s now been in Australia for 3.5 years, and loving the Sydney lifestyle. He loves sports and ‘attempts’ to surf on weekends – attempts being the operative word. With a passion for business & sales strategy he looks forward to adding to Sterling’s dynamic sales force.
James Fitzgerald – journalist James graduated from the University of Loughborough with a degree in English Literature in 2012. Prior to joining the Sterling team, he gained an Oxford Trinity TESOL qualification and went on to teach English in a multitude of countries, including Spain, Ghana and Thailand. In his spare time he enjoys writing and performing music, cooking Thai food and playing sports. James currently works as a journalist for the Smart Property Investment publication..
