Cyclone hits rental properties

Preliminary reports from businesses along the cyclone-ravaged north Queensland coastline suggest many rental properties have been damaged, according to Ray White deputy chairman Sam White.

"Ray White Tully Heads has around 21 rentals with major damage and a further 19 with less severe damage,” Mr White said.

“Ray White Port Hinchinbrook has around 70 boats with significant damage and Ray White Cardwell, north of Ingham, has around 60 properties with major damage and around 150 with minor through to more serious damage.”

Mr White said the group was still not entirely certain of the full extent of damage caused to properties as a result of the natural disaster.

"Dick Williams at Ray White Mission Beach reported damage to 22 properties under their management but still hasn't been able to access his office premise.

"Marie Hubert of Ray White Ingham has reported that one of her managements at Forest Beach has been completely blown away - fortunately she evacuated the elderly residents yesterday.

"The strength of character and the leadership shown by our North Queensland people is extraordinary and something we are all very proud of," Mr White concluded.
