Current market makes advice crucial

By Staff Reporter

The current market is making good advice more crucial than ever, according to advice from the Property Professionals of Australia (PIPA).

While property can be a lucrative investment, in softer market conditions where capital growth is less certain, investors need to get the right strategy advice, said PIPA chair Ben Kingsley.

“The days of every property achieving double-digit price growth are history and Australians need to be much more deliberate and strategic in their approach to property investment,” Mr Kingsley said.

Despite this, he explained that some advice is better than others.

“At the same time, there are a lot of marketeers out there promoting and selling questionable properties under the guise of ‘independent property advice’ or offering so called ‘property investment education’ without any formal qualifications to do so,” he said.

“There are some great opportunities available to property investors, but you’ve got to be well informed and well researched to know what you’re doing.”

He identifies that a good plan will offer recommendations for investment that are supported by clear evidence and reasoning.
