The state government has completed a multi-million dollar transport hub to cater to the fast-growing region south of.
Transport minister Troy Buswell said the $4.5 million upgrade to Warnbro’s bus interchange is now complete and "would cater to future demand for public transport in the area".
“We know that the size of the community around Warnbro is growing and this strategic project will allow us to operate more buses in the area as demand increases,” Mr Buswell said.
The minister said the upgrade was an important part of the state government’s strategy to provide world-class public transport for West Australians.
“On an average week day, Warnbro train station has about 2,900 boardings - more than a third of whom arrive by bus. This project means it will now be even easier for those passengers to access public transport,” he said.
Other areas in the Rockingham region, including nearby Baldivis, were identified as potential hotspots earlier this year.
