Watanobbi is a small Central Coast suburb within the Central Coast Council area, about 3 kilometres north of Wyong and edged by the Porters Creek wetland system.

By road, it sits roughly 100 kilometres north of Sydney’s CBD and about 64 kilometres south of Newcastle’s CBD, while Gosford’s CBD is around 24 kilometres to the south. Regional access relies on the M1 Pacific Motorway via Wyong Road and the Pacific Highway corridor through Wyong, linking the suburb to Greater Sydney and the Hunter.

Wyong railway station, located on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line, is the nearest rail hub, offering frequent intercity services to Central and Newcastle. Local buses connect Watanobbi with Tuggerah, Wyong, and Lake Haven, including Routes 78 and 80, which run via Wadalba and the Pacific Highway.

At the 2021 Census, Watanobbi recorded 3,982 residents with a median age of 35, and 8.5% of people identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Households averaged 2.6 people across 1,550 occupied private dwellings at that time.

Essential health services are conveniently located at Wyong Hospital, situated on the Pacific Highway in Hamlyn Terrace. Westfield Tuggerah serves retail needs on Wyong Road and the Woolworths-anchored Wadalba Shopping Village to the north.

Primary schooling is available at Wyong Public School on Cutler Drive, with K–12 education also offered at Wadalba Community School, a short drive away.

Recreation includes Watanobbi Oval on Del’Isle Drive, a Council sportsground with lighting, amenities and fields used for community sport. The neighbouring Porters Creek Wetland is the Central Coast’s largest freshwater wetland, valued for its biodiversity and water-quality functions.
