Belmont South is a residential and coastal suburb in the City of Lake Macquarie, NSW, with postcode 2280, situated between Belmont, Marks Point, Blacksmiths and the eastern shoreline of Lake Macquarie. 

The suburb is about 22 kilometres south-west of Newcastle’s central business district, with the Pacific Highway providing its principal road connection to Newcastle and other Lake Macquarie centres. Belmont South consists largely of established residential neighbourhoods, with housing extending between the Pacific Highway and Lake Macquarie, and coastal bushland. 

The suburb does not have a railway station, making buses and private vehicles the main modes of transport for local residents. Regular bus services along the Pacific Highway connect the Belmont area to surrounding suburbs and larger centres, with additional connections available from Belmont.

Belmont South Public School provides primary education within the suburb, while nearby Belmont High School serves secondary students in the wider area.
