Mundijong is a semi-rural locality situated approximately 41 kilometres south-southeast of Perth’s central business district. Located within the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale, the suburb covers an area of about 18.4 square kilometres. Known initially as Jarrahdale Junction, it was renamed Mundijong in 1897.

According to the 2021 Census, Mundijong had a population of 2,284 residents. The community is predominantly Australian-born, with 94% identifying as non-Indigenous and 2.1% as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Public transportation in Mundijong includes Transperth bus routes 252 and 253, which connect the suburb to Armadale Station.  The Australind train service operates twice daily between Perth and Bunbury, stopping at Mundijong Railway Station.
