ANZ named lender of the year
ANZ has been named Australia’s lender of the year at the inaugural The Adviser's Australian Lending Awards held at The Westin hotel in Sydney last night.
The award honours the best lender in the Australian mortgage space at the current time.

ANZ’s general manager mortgages Glenn Haslam told Smart Property Investment that the bank was thrilled with the win, considering how much competition there is presently between the major banks.
“It is always nice to win an award, but this one is something else. It is great to get some recognition for all our hard work,” Mr Haslam said.
“Competition between lenders has increased dramatically of late, so it is good to know that we are still recognised by both brokers and consumers as being the number one lender.”
ANZ also took out the award for the best investor lender.
The Australian Lending Awards takes into account the opinions of 6,000 borrowers and 500 mortgage brokers and is based on actual experiences of consumers and brokers with the lenders.
Other winners on the night included Bankwest (best first home buyer lender), Homeloans Ltd (best non-bank lender) and ING DIRECT (best customer experience).
