Penrith development open for comment
Public comments are open for the proposal of a large-scale residential and commercial development in Penrith.
The proponent, Parkview Penrith Pty Ltd, is seeking planning approval for the development on the former Panasonic site at 164 Station Street, Penrith.

The proposal is seeking concept approval for a mixed use development including:
• Approximately 570 dwellings in 12 buildings of four to eight storeys, including car
parking and open space;
• Neighbourhood shops/cafes;
• A tavern; and
• A home improvement store consisting of bulky goods, hardware, building supplies
and a garden centre.
The proposal also seeks approval to construct the home improvement store on the southern part of the site, including a café, 380 parking spaces, landscaping and associated site works.
The department required the proponent’s environmental assessment to specifically address issues including residential density and housing supply, built form and urban design, environmental and residential amenity, as well as noise, vibration, traffic, drainage and heritage impacts.
The environmental assessment is on public exhibition from Wednesday 17 October until Friday 16 November 2012. Interested members of the public are encouraged to lodge a submission providing feedback during this time.
