While we all know the downfalls of online forums and the anonymity that often comes with them, Somersoft is a fantastic place for most investors to start when they have a question they want answered.
Most likely, if you're asking it, someone else has too - and there's a wealth of information on here with 994,907 posts (at the time of writing this review). Covering accounting and tax, finance, adding value, where to buy, property management, innovative techniques, legal issues, commercial property and other sections, there's not much that someone on here won't be able to help you with.
Not only are property investors themselves active on the site, but you'll find building and pest inspectors, buyer's agents, brokers and others - and many members are more than happy to refer you on to a decent expert if you need some help.
It's also great if you just want to let off some steam and talk about your investment experiences with others who can relate to what you're going through.
Many from the forum also catchup in real life, with meetings arranged by the administrators.
Obviously, the onus is on the user to understand that the advice should always be checked with an expert they trust, and to watch out for some of the cheekier personalities.
