Rental listings website surges

The rental listings website rent.com.au, set up to assist landlords and property managers find suitable tenants, has relaunched its site after visits soared 43 per cent in the last 12 months.

“Our website relaunch is in line with rent.com.au’s continued growth and relevance in the rental market, and shows our commitment to working with property managers and landlords to secure the best tenants while providing renters with a better site through which they can find their perfect home,” rent.com.au chief executive Mark Woschnak said.

The relaunch of rent.com.au features changes such as bigger images, "easier" navigation and extra at-a-glance information, such as pet-friendly, furnished or non-smoking property options.

Mr Woschnak attributed the changes to feedback received from a Renters Unite and Have Your Say survey conducted earlier this year.

According to Google Analytics, November 2011 and AC Nielson, September 2011, rent.com.au has seen visits increase 43 per cent, recording 205,000 unique browsers and 2.4 million impressions per month. Of these, rent.com.au said 40 per cent were unique browsers to realestate.com.au and 50 per cent were unique browers to Domain.

“Rent.com.au is now a major performer in the rental market with 5,500 real estate offices and 205,000 unique visitors to the site each month,” Mr Woschnak said.

“While there are 10,000 offices in Australia, 8,000 offer property management and almost 5,500 use rent.com.au,” Mr Woschnak said.
