How to be a property investor in your 20s

07 APR 2022 By Robyn Tongol 2 min read Investor Strategy

What does it really take to jump onto the property ladder at a young age?

Darlinghurst

Smart Property Investment’s Phil Tarrant sits down with journalist and property investor Katie Silver, who shares the two things she did to save up a deposit for her first two-bedroom investment property in Sydney bought at age 25, despite her parents turning down her request to be her guarantors for the mortgage.

Katie also reveals her method for choosing a property to add to her portfolio based on postal codes and her preferences and reflects on how her six-month-old baby compares to a long-term investment.

The two also discuss the macro and micro considerations that help property investors make timely and prudent decisions by knowing when to wait and when it’s time to make a call.
