Regional cities primed for growth

A new regional city strategy project is set to be outlined with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of funding, according to recent announcements.

Victoria’s ten regional cities will benefit under a $300,000 injection into creating a Regional Growth Strategy project plan, premier Ted Baillieu has outlined.

"The Coalition Government constantly supports our regional cities, we want to see them grow and we want to see more people living and investing in our regions," Mr Baillieu said.

The strategy will focus on a number of areas, including economic and population drivers, strategic and statutory planning, urban and community infrastructure and governance and resources.

This comes in addition to the $1 billion Regional Growth Fund, and “the next step in our regional growth agenda and will enable [Regional Cities Victoria] to develop a strategic model for growth that will focus on the delivery of infrastructure over the next 25 years,” he said.
