Established in 1995, it covers an area of about 7.2 square kilometres and is bordered by Neerabup to the north, Banksia Grove to the east, Tapping to the south, and Wanneroo to the west. 

As of the 2021 census, Carramar had a population of 7,178 residents, with a median age of 34. The community comprises a mix of families, professionals, and retirees, contributing to a diverse demographic profile.
