According to SPI’s FAST 50 report, Geraldton is gaining traction as one of Western Australia’s most closely watched regional coastal markets, with accessible price points, high rental yields, and growing demand.

While broader financial conditions have remained tight and rates have continued to rise, regional markets like Geraldton have remained attractive to investors seeking entry-level price points with strong income potential and long-term upside.

Rising population movement into affordable regional centres, supported by lifestyle migration, employment linked to the port and resources sector, and ongoing housing constraints across Western Australia, has kept demand pressure elevated, reinforcing Geraldton’s position as a key coastal growth market.

To help investors cut through market noise, the FAST 50 report has identified 50 suburbs tipped for growth in 2027 using a blend of expert insight and data, focusing on where momentum is building next rather than past performance.

On the experts’ radar, Geraldton has offered a mix of coastal lifestyle and urban convenience, attracting families, retirees, and investors seeking affordability, strong yields, and sea-change appeal.

The city has been well served by schools, shopping centres, health services, and a busy port, while beaches, parks, and sporting facilities have supported an active coastal lifestyle.

Behind the scenes, ongoing regional infrastructure investment, port activity upgrades, and continued residential expansion have been shaping Geraldton’s long-term outlook, supporting both employment and housing demand across the region.

With a median house price of $473,000, Geraldton has remained one of Western Australia’s more affordable coastal markets, recording a 12-month growth of 24.5 per cent, a gross rental yield of 5.3 per cent for a median rent of $485 per week, with strong momentum and active buyer demand.

According to the FAST 50 experts, its combination of affordability, high yields, coastal lifestyle appeal, and rapid recent growth has positioned Geraldton as a standout regional opportunity for investors seeking both income and long-term capital growth.
