Rokeby has been catching investors’ attention with strong price growth, solid rental returns, and an affordable entry point within Hobart’s eastern suburbs.

The eastern-shore suburb has been included in SPI’s FAST 50 report, which selects 50 Australian suburbs tipped for growth over the next 12 months by combining market data with investor insight to identify locations with further upside.

Benefiting from its position within Hobart’s growing eastern corridor, Rokeby gives residents access to schools, shops, parks, and local services while remaining within reach of the CBD.

Its established housing base has also kept the suburb accessible to first-home buyers, families, and investors, with newer residential development adding further housing choice.

Transport investment is set to strengthen Rokeby’s connectivity, with $55 million committed to upgrading the South Arm Highway between Rokeby and Lauderdale, alongside broader investment across Hobart’s Eastern Shore

The ongoing infrastructure push is expected to support population growth, improve daily commutes and strengthen the suburb’s long-term appeal for residents and investors.

Rokeby has recorded a median price of $578,000, with values rising 11.2 per cent over the past 12 months.

Rental demand has remained strong, with a median weekly rent of $500 delivering a gross rental yield of 4.5 per cent, while 96 properties have sold.

For investors, Rokeby’s appeal has centred on its relatively accessible price point, strong recent growth, and improving connectivity.

With major transport investment underway across Hobart’s eastern shore, the suburb has continued to build a stronger case for long-term capital growth and rental demand.
