Best rental yields revealed
The 10 suburbs attracting the highest rental yields in the country in 2013 have been uncovered in a new report.
RP Data's Best of the Best 2013 report revealed that Johnston in the Northern Territory led the pack, attracting an average gross rental yield of 15.7 per cent for houses. The median sale price in the suburb for the 12 months to September 2013 was $249,000, and the median weekly rent sat at $750.

Second place for houses went to Bellamack, also in the Palmerston Local Government Area (LGA) in the Northern Territory. The suburb's rental yield for 2013 was 14.4 per cent, with a median sale price of $270,375 and a median weekly rent of $750.
Western Australia was the most heavily represented state on the list for houses, accounting for four of the 10 suburbs. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the ACT did not make the top 10 for houses.
Ultimo in Sydney topped the list for units, with a gross rental yield of 11.2 per cent.
