Perth’s fastest-selling suburbs uncovered

New data has shown that Perth houses collectively sold 27 days quicker in September. Which suburbs are most in demand?

Fresh stats from the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) has found that houses in the capital are selling 27 days faster in September when compared with one year ago. This puts the median of 28 days to sell, rather than 55 days.

“While the data shows we are seeing improvements, agents on the ground have reported high levels of interest in residential property and multiple offers being put forward on some new listings,” REIWA president Damian Collins said.

“In September, there was a 20 per cent decrease in the number of properties for sale on reiwa.com compared to the previous year. This combined with low interest rates and a return to stronger population growth explains why we are seeing houses sell at a quicker rate.

“While the market overall is on the improve, some suburbs are going better than others, with the top 10 selling suburbs in September all selling well under Perth’s median of 28 days.

“With low stock levels and faster selling days, we can expect the median sale price to start increasing over the coming months. For those who are looking to sell, now might be the time to contact your local REIWA agent,” Mr Collins said. 

According to the data, the top selling Perth suburbs for houses are: 

1. Subiaco

  • Median selling days September 2020: 12
  • 16 days faster than in September 2019

2. Kingsley

  • Median selling days September 2020: 12
  • 16 days faster than in September 2019

3. Rivervale

  • Median selling days September 2020: 14
  • 11 days faster than in September 2019

4. Darch

  • Median selling days September 2020: 14
  • 18 days faster than in September 2019

5. Woodvale

  • Median selling days September 2020: 14
  • 37 days faster than in September 2019

6. Swan View

  • Median selling days September 2020: 15
  • 57 days faster than in September 2019

7. Beechboro

  • Median selling days September 2020: 15
  • 11 days faster than in September 2019

8. Coolbellup

  • Median selling days September 2020: 15
  • 42 days faster than in September 2019

9. Mount Hawthorn

  • Median selling days September 2020: 15
  • 34 days faster than in September 2019

10. Greenwood
